Cutter sailing revisited
After a vacation it is usually time to tidy up and stuff. When you do that, you often find old - and sometimes dear - belongings long forgotten. That's how I found this:
The Seagull sailing at sunset somewhere west of Tradewinds.
It is called the Seagull. And here I was thinking the cutter from ReneMarine was my first cutter. [...]
Roar Ege rounds Fastnet Rock
Back to the story about Sharp-Tooth-Isle. There are so many beautiful boats to sail. This time - as so often before - I simply logged in to Tradewinds Yacht Club and there she was; I was excited, because I have seen that particular boat many times - in real life. Moored in Roskilde. Sailing in Kattegat. It is of course the Roar Ege, aka Skuld [...]
Becca’s Baby Sloop
I've been meaning to post something about this boat for a while. Becca's Baby Sloop. It was not the first sailing boat I came across in SL. I already knew the Shelly and the Fizz. However, the Baby Sloop was my first boat using Becca's BWind system, and it sorta started a wave of new and exciting sailing boats in SL. So it is [...]
11 boats at the line
Kanker day
The other day was Kanker day, - celebrating the invention of sailing in SL. This is really too geeky for my blog, but Kanker Greenacre built the first boat in SL, the Tako, and so the SL Sailing community marks this important day on the 16th of May.
Me looking at all the Takos at TYC
I was not around when the Tako was built - back in 20 [...]

Feeling Mothy
Not entirely sure how, but something made me feel mothy this weekend. Had mothy dreams too. Perhaps it was a combination of lots of sun, cooled redwine and a panoramic view of the North Sea, - or was it the fact that there was a Moth race within a few hours of driving range?
Dreamscape
However, I wasn't on the water; I was in a bikini; [...]

Quest Q-2m
Q-2m in Blake Sea
Most of the boats, I usually sail are from the same line, but sometimes it’s good to try something new. Quest Q-2m is a quite fresh sailboat powered by BWind engine, which has its own special “touch”.
I would say, that the boat is surprisingly easy to sail, because there is a clear color indication helping [...]
Cutter sailing
Again, I logged in to test Traps navigation device. After a few minutes at Tradewinds, Rene arrived in her latest project, - a cutter. I gotta tell you... this might not be a racing boat, and it sure isn't a modern boat, but she is an absolute beauty, and she sails like a dream.
Me sailing Renes beautiful cutter
Just have a look! Click [...]

Skipjack launched
I was lucky to login right before the launch of the the latest release from ReneMarine, the Skipjack. The Skipjack is not a fancy modern race boat, and that is why it deserves a little attention. In RL everybody gathers around the latest and greatest speedmonsters. In SL there is room for other boat types too, and that's really beautiful.
Pe [...]

Virtual RC sailing
Virtual RC sailing? LOL, - or is it OMFG? I thought I had seen many things in SL. Then along comes Eta; She takes Beccas boat, shrinks it to modelsize, adds RC controls and boom - there is a whole new thing going down...
RC sailing at Tradewinds. Yes, it is a wing-cat on the right.
It is not the same thing as RC in RL. I tried a Seawind [...]

2m Class goes virtual, take two
In take one I had pictures of the prototype. Now I have pictures of the real thing. Say hello to the final Q 2m. It is is small, it is beautiful, and it sails like a dream. Have a look at the real deal: class2m. As always, Qyv has done a really great job replicating a real boat, so the virtual Q 2m is very pretty. Here I am, flapping sa [...]

Back! Sort of.
Moth spotted in the Blake Sea
Moth spotted in the Blake Sea
I once saw a Moth. In RL that is. I was on a holiday. It was out there, and I was on shore, so no contact. I have had wet dreams ever since. What is it? First up... its real. Check the Moth website. It is the craziest little sailing device I have ever seen. Never mind the AC and their giant plastic bugs. This one is wayyy beyond those silly m [...]
